What you'll be doing

The National Communications Specialist plays a key role in shaping and delivering consistent, impactful messaging across internal and external platforms nationwide. This position is responsible for developing content, managing media relations, supporting crisis communications, and executing communication strategies that align with organizational goals and enhance brand reputation on a national scale.

You will be responsible for...

• Develop and implement national communication strategies that support organizational priorities, brand awareness, and stakeholder engagement.

• Draft, edit, and distribute press releases, newsletters, blog posts, speeches, talking points, and internal communications.

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging across all regions and departments.

• Manage media relations, including building press lists, responding to media inquiries, and coordinating interviews and coverage opportunities.

• Support executive and leadership communications, including presentations, announcements, and public appearances.

• Monitor news coverage and social sentiment; provide media analysis and reports to leadership.

• Assist with crisis communications planning and rapid-response messaging as needed.

• Ensure brand consistency and adherence to company tone and voice across all communications.

• Coordinate with marketing, HR, and external partners to support campaigns, events, and national initiatives.

What skills & experience you'll bring to us

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.

• 3–5 years of experience in a corporate communications, public relations, or media role.

• Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.

• Experience managing media relationships and pitching stories.

• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and content management or email marketing platforms.

• Familiarity with media monitoring tools (e.g., Meltwater, Cision) and social media platforms.
